Data Collection & Cleaning

Data collection practices are monitored closely to ensure we’re using all the procedures at our disposal to encourage respondents to participate. This is part of our constant effort to achieve a high response rate and make people feel positive about participating.

Data cleaning is completed systematically using both statistical and manual methods to remove data entry errors and identify cases with paradoxical or inappropriate responses. Data analysis of closed-ended items is completed by an experienced statistician using SPSS. Open-ended responses are categorized by trained coders using pre-defined coding categories.
